Autumn Equinox - Mabon
RESIDENTIAL RETREAT 25th - 28th September 2026, Mid Wales.
The autumnal equinox is a moment in the year when day and night are exactly equal. This event marks the beginning of autumn, which lasts until winter solstice. Nature goes to rest; summer days, full of energy and vitality, have now passed to a moment of rest and balance between wakefulness and sleep of nature. On the autumn equinox, we celebrate the harvest and honour our connection with the earth.
This year the autumn equinox will be celebrated at Original Hideaways - a bespoke, luxury retreat venue in the glorious landscape of Mid Wales.
Guy Petheram and I are jointly hosting a retreat to deeply connect you to nature, to honour the season and the land and to give you some peace and respite for a few days. We will use guided walks, meditation, creative practice, yoga and sound baths (with our lovely friend Sarah from Wild Earth Yoga) to immerse you in and connect you to the wonderful landscape surrounding our gorgeous venue.
Original Hideaways is a purpose built retreat venue with the most wonderful facilities finished to an incredibly high standard. It is set in 10 acres of private land, adjacent to a 150 acre working farm. It has 10 en-suite double bedrooms, private dining facilities, a purpose built workshop space, a river running through it, a wood-fired sauna, all surrounded by the glorious landscape of Mid Wales. It is an absolutely stunning place with beautiful energy and we are so excited to share it with you.
Location
Original Hideaways is situated between Llanidloes and Machynlleth in rural Mid Wales, a mountainous valley steeped in Welsh history. The local train station is CAERSWS which is 5 miles (7km) from the venue. Birmingham International is a direct train away from Caersws (2hrs), and one change away from London Euston. Manchester International airport is a 90min drive.
Accommodation and Food
You will have your own double bedroom and en-suite bathroom; there is no expectation for you to share a room, unless you wish to share with a partner or friend. The retreat is designed to give you peace, relaxation and time to yourself in a beautiful, luxurious space.
The retreat is fully catered by Aimee from Earthly Feasts using seasonal and foraged produce to connect us to place and season.
