The Coven

Crones, hags, and witches frequently were the preservers of knowledge and the bearers of wisdom. They were the leaders, mentors, advisors, midwives and healers in their communities.  Crone comes from crown, indicating wisdom emanating from the head; hag comes from hagio meaning holy; and witch comes from wit meaning wise.

The term Crone has been hijacked and has negative associations, leading to the view of older women as invisible, superfluous, unattractive.  So often we feel that we lose our value, our identity and visibility at a point in our lives when we are actually at the peak of our powers.  We can’t see the goddess and feel like the witch.

The Coven is designed for anyone who feels that they identify as a Crone and who feels that they would like some support to step in to this part of their life.

The aim is to help women to have the confidence and self-knowledge to stand firmly in themselves, not to be swayed by what anyone else says they should be and to see and know themselves.

THE GATHERING

This gathering consists of 6 sessions over the year.

With the help of a range of visiting experts we will explore how we can reconnect with our confidence and power, how we can best utilise the skills we have or want to develop, how to connect with and fully inhabit ourselves.

The final session will be a croning ceremony – a celebration of our status and power in becoming a crone, to step into and connect with ourselves and to form a supportive coven of our own.

Our visiting experts are: Colette Wrigglesworth, an experienced coach and mentor from Chime of Wrens Coaching who has been supporting women from diverse backgrounds to achieve their goals for over 20 years.  Cathy Hastie, an author, HR director and consultant who uses her 30 years of experience in HR to support women.

Finally Yvette Karan, a mentor, Reiki Master, hypnotherapist and NLP coach who has been supporting and empowering people through her business YLK mentors for many years.

Tea/coffee/light refreshments provided but please bring your own lunch. The investment is £1,200 payable in one, two or three installments.
